Kill the Babysitter

Interesting article in the L.A. Times today linked the amount of sexual content kids watch on TV with the likelihood of teen pregnancy. Shocking. It also said that kids from a two parent household had a lower probability of pregnancy. Again, shocking. Thoughts?

Dad's Confession

Just last night I commented on the effect of daylight savings time - something like, "It's getting dark so early now that I can't play with my daughter in the back yard after work."

...Not that I had played in the back yard with her for at least a month - but now the opportunity was gone...

Now, I'd like to say that we still gathered for a family activity or (better yet) to include a study of the Truth. But, instead, Dora the Explorer entertained my daughters while my wife cleaned the mess I made of the kitchen and I tracked election results.

My eldest daughter will be 3 years old at the end of the month - still early enough, I hope, to apply more fruitful ways to spend the God-given time we receive together.

My leadership of my family is despicable; it will surely be by the Lord's grace alone that my daughters are redeemed from this sinful mess we're in.
