Debt Preaching

In light of this last week's sermon on giving, this short humorous clip from Matt Chandler is surely appropriate. In it he details how a Pastor should not preach on debt, and how a Pastor should preach on debt.

I like the idea of posting videos on the blog, very good video at that.

Here is a good video as well, quite a bit off topic from finance but one of the best motivator I have in my arsenal is this video. When I am weak, or strong in my faith this video seems to find and destroy all contentment I have in my faith. It shines a light on all that I am NOT doing for the Lord as opposed to what I am BARELY doing for the Lord. tell me what you think, you may have seen it already.

The video seems to suggest that salvation is dependant upon the fruit that we might produce.

I understand the biblical truth of seeing fruit as evidence of salvation, but the message seems absent of salvation through God's grace in giving faith in the finished work of Christ.

On one hand the message seems to present an urgency to be entirely dependant on Christ (biblical), but on the other hand the message seems to add our works as a necessity for our salvation (which is either non-biblical or needs additional explanation).
