Adult Catechesis

In case you're wondering, Catechesis is just another way of saying teaching (there's more there, but I won't get into it here). As some of you know, in the Fall I am hoping to start an Adult Catechism class up at Victoria Community Church.

The reason for this? The idea came when talking to parents of junior high confirmation students. They were so impressed with what their kids were learning in their catechism class that often times they would say, "I wish their were a class like this for adults." Now those wishes will come true.

The Catechism class will not cover the same things as the junior high class, but will actually be an in depth class on the doctrines that our Church (The Church of the Lutheran Brethren) holds to.

Each week we will take an article from our Statement of Faith, disect it, wrestle with it and gain a greater understanding of it.

I am really looking forward to it! Titus 2:1 instructs us: "But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine." By God's grace we will!

Cwirla's done it again, dude. Check out The God Whisperers at www.godwhisperers.com. I listened to the first podcast and think this site might be a good resource for your adult catechesis. Reverberate away.
