The Good Sort of Relevant Church

Although I agree with some of his critiques of the church (caring about or tribe, being out of touch, etc.), I am disappointed at how one sided Keller is in this short clip.

There is no mention of the power of the Holy Spirit working through the proclamation of the gospel. It seems almost totally focused on relating with the lost regarding social concerns and things of that nature.

I also don't understand all the talk about the unbeliever walking into church and feeling more comfortable. It seems like the same old seeker friendly strategy. (Hybels and their crew removed religious symbols - Keller is saying to remove "church jargon" - I would like some examples from Keller on what he sees as jargon.)

He points out that those that are lost may be "confused" by what they here in a church service. Isn't that to be expected to some degree when we are dealing with the unregenerate mind?

The word is clear that we are the fragrance of death to death to those who are perishing. The message of the gospel is a stumbling block to some and foolishness to others. The world will hate us because of Jesus.

I respect Tim Keller as a teacher and brother in Christ. I agree we should make the sharing of the Gospel as clear as possible. I also understand what he is reacting to. I just didn't like the seemingly one-sided message of this video.
